Goa Gets Rs 4,000+ Crore Highway Makeover

The Union Government has sanctioned highway infrastructure projects exceeding Rs 4,000 crore in Goa, featuring the expansion of the Mollem-Khandepar highway and a newly cleared Borim bridge project tied to land acquisition and environmental approvals.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari announced these developments during the September 9, 2026 inauguration of the Rs 641 crore, 5.1-km six-lane Porvorim elevated corridor. Additional highlights include:

New National Highways: Central agreement reached to develop two new national highways based on state government requests.

Mumbai-Goa Corridor: Project completion has reached 93 percent following previous developmental delays.
